Rajma Recipe – How to Make Rajma Masala
Rajma is a very famous dish of Punjab. It is eaten with great fervor in most parts of India. As much as it is excellent in taste, it is also beneficial for health. It is usually served with rice and roti. So here is a rajma recipe to know how to make Rajma Masala vegetable.

Ingredients required to make Rajma Masala –
Kidney beans – two bowls
Onion – medium size
Garlic – 3, 4 buds
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Tomatoes – 2 medium sized
Green chili – two
Red chili powder – half a tablespoon
Turmeric – half a tablespoon
Coriander Powder – One Tablespoon
Garam Masala – half a tablespoon
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Cumin seeds – a quarter tablespoon
Kasuri Methi – half a tablespoon
Mango powder – one fourth tablespoon (optional)
salt to taste
Oil – three to four tablespoons
Coriander (finely chopped) – 1 tablespoon
How to make Rajma Masala, Recipe –
First, take water in a vessel to soak the beans in it and keep it for 7 to 8 hours.
After this, put the Rajma with Water in the pressure cooker, put a little salt in it and close the cooker lid and boil. Cook the Rajma on low flame after one whistle, turn off the cooker when it comes to three to four whistles. After some time, open its lid and mix it well with a large spoon. Take out 3 tablespoons rajma separately and mash them well.
For gravy, make onion paste first, for this cut onions, green chilies, garlic, and ginger in pieces. Then heat three to four tablespoon oil in a pan and put all the pieces in it, cook them well on low heat, then keep them in a plate to cool down. When the mixture cools down, put it in the mixer and grind it well, then make a paste of tomato in the mixer separately.
Now put three to four tablespoon oil in the pan and let it heat up, add cumin and asafoetida, when the cumin seeds crackle, add onion paste to it, cook it on low flame then add tomato paste to it, now add all the spices like red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder and cook well on low flame.
When the gravy separates the oil, then add mashed beans and mix well, by doing this the gravy becomes thick. Now put boiled beans in it, if the water seems to be less then you can add water as per your requirement. Now cook the gravy on medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes, now add mango powder, salt, kasoori methi and garam masala.
When the Rajma are cooked well, turn off the gas.
Delicious Rajma sabzi is ready, decorate it with coriander leaves and serve it hot.
